Zoom Chairside is an in-clinic teeth whitening treatment using the Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed system — one of the most trusted professional whitening systems available. A high-concentration hydrogen peroxide whitening gel is applied to your teeth and activated by a specially designed LED light, which accelerates the bleaching process.
The treatment is carried out in our clinic, under the supervision of our dental team from start to finish. No equipment to take home, no trays to wear overnight — just one appointment and a dramatically brighter smile.

The appointment
What happens during treatment?
The Zoom Chairside appointment takes approximately 90 minutes from start to finish. Here's what to expect:
Preparation
Your lips and gums are carefully covered and protected before any gel is applied, so only your teeth are exposed to the whitening agent.
Whitening cycles
The Zoom gel is applied to your teeth and the LED light is positioned in front of your mouth. The treatment is carried out in three or four 15-minute cycles, with the gel refreshed between each cycle.
Assessment
At the end of the session, we assess your results and record your new shade.
Post-whitening care pack
You'll receive a take-home touch-up kit to help maintain your results.
You can listen to music, a podcast, or simply relax during the treatment. Most patients find it very comfortable.
Aftercare
Looking after your results
The 48 hours following Zoom Chairside treatment are the most important for protecting your results — the enamel is more porous immediately after whitening and picks up staining more readily. During this time:
- ✓ Stick to white or colourless foods and drinks — chicken, fish, rice, pasta, water, milk
- ✓ Avoid tea, coffee, red wine, dark sauces, berries, and anything that could stain a white shirt
- ✓ Don't smoke
- ✓ After the first 48 hours, resume normal eating but continue to brush twice daily and use a whitening toothpaste to slow re-staining
- ✓ Use your take-home touch-up kit once or twice a year to keep your smile bright

Does Zoom Chairside whitening hurt? +
Most patients find the treatment comfortable. Some people experience mild sensitivity during or after the procedure — this is temporary and usually settles within 24–48 hours. We use a desensitising gel after treatment to minimise this. If you already have sensitive teeth, please mention this at your consultation.
How white will my teeth get? +
Results vary depending on the natural shade of your teeth and the type of staining. Many patients achieve significant whitening in a single session. We'll give you a realistic expectation at your consultation based on your starting shade.
How long do the results last? +
Zoom Chairside results typically last one to three years, depending on your diet, lifestyle, and how well you look after your teeth. Using the take-home touch-up kit periodically can significantly extend the results.
Can I eat and drink normally straight after? +
Not immediately. We recommend following the 'white diet' — colourless foods and drinks only — for the first 48 hours after treatment. After that, normal eating and drinking can resume, though minimising heavily staining food and drink will help your results last longer.
